Training in the carpentry trade

I determine my future with my hand and heart

At the Biberach training centre, we prepare you for all the challenges of modern timber construction. With a clear structure, in-depth knowledge and practical support, you will become a professional carpenter step by step. Our mission: to strengthen your craftsmanship, encourage you personally and accompany you professionally into a strong future.

Procedure for inter-company training

Your stay with us is divided into course blocks - focussing on timber construction, machinery and safety. You will work practically in modern workshops and deepen your knowledge from the company.

Accommodation directly at the training location

During your time with us, you will live in the training guest house on the grounds of the timber construction training centre. Catering, free time and good company are provided.

All dates at a glance with the block plans

The block schedules show you when you are at the training centre for which courses. This allows you to organise your day-to-day training well and plan ahead.

How has my life changed?

This is what our trainees report.

"The online learning sequences are very helpful for me, as I can't always apply the content from the inter-company training immediately in the company. It's therefore good that I can look at it again at home and consolidate it. The training in Biberach was also great in terms of the learning effect."

"I always liked the A and B courses best - working on wooden constructions is just fun, especially the finishing and ripping. The equipment in the workshops is excellent, everything you need is there. The instructors are also very well prepared - you can tell that everyone knows exactly how to organise the lessons in a meaningful way."

"I particularly like the kursm.app, which we trainees can use to access our course invitations, learning sheets and all important information digitally. I was also able to download the certificates of attendance for the training courses directly and use them for my report booklet - that was super practical because I had everything at a glance."

"The accommodation during the training was great for relaxing after the lessons. The food on offer was varied and the leisure programme - such as football tournaments or barbecues - was great fun. The get-together with the course after the training was particularly nice, as you could get to know your course colleagues better and the youth leaders were always available to answer any questions."

Questions about your stay?

Who are my contacts? What does A-course actually mean? And how does the guest house work?
You can find answers to these and many other questions here. For everything else, take a look at our help section.

Who is my contact person in the training programme?

During the course, the assigned training supervisor is the first point of contact, with the head of training as the higher-level contact.
The secretariat is responsible for questions regarding organisational procedures, such as course invitations, dates and travel expenses.

What do I have to do if I am ill?
  • In the event of illness, notify the ZAZ and your employer by telephone or e-mail.
  • See a doctor (a sick note/certificate is required from the first day of illness).
  • Send the sick note to the employer and send a copy or picture to the ZAZ.
What personal protective equipment do I need?
  • Safety shoes (S1P) and appropriate work clothing are required as standard for every course.
  • A safety helmet is required for the timber house construction course, as this course involves crane operation. The safety helmet is provided, but you can also use your own approved safety helmet
  • The personal protective equipment will be mentioned in the course invitation.
What does A-course mean?

There are always two timber construction courses in the 2nd and 3rd year of training. The first course is called the A course, the second course is called the B course and builds on the A course.

When can I start travelling and where do I register?

On Sunday, arrival is possible between 16:00 and 22:00. Please register with the youth leaders in the foyer of the guest house. See also our directions.

Will I be able to stay in the same room for the duration of the course?

Normally yes. However, it can happen that we have to reschedule at short notice.
