20 new managers for timber construction - Successful completion in 2025

30 Jun 2025

The timber construction training centre held a graduation ceremony to honour the 20 newly qualified foremen in timber construction.

In the festively decorated restaurant area of the associated seminar hotel, the graduates came together with family, friends, lecturers and the examination board to celebrate their successful graduation. All 20 participants in this year's course successfully passed the challenging advanced training examination - a strong joint success that emphasises both the commitment of the graduates and the quality of the training.

Strong words at the start

Ernst Stephan, Head of Training and Development, opened the graduation ceremony with a warm welcome. Markus Weitzmann, General Manager of the Timber Construction Training Centre, then addressed the graduates.

"You have the qualifications needed to advance timber construction and lead it into the future," emphasised Weitzmann.

Course director Jens Rothfuss also took the opportunity to address a few personal and appreciative words to his group.
All three made it clear that the practical training to become a certified foreman is not just a career step, but a decisive contribution to the future viability of timber construction.

Presentation of certificates and awards

The ceremony centred on the presentation of certificates. The graduates were called up individually and received their certificates to applause. The three best graduates of the year were especially honoured:

  • Quirin Wecker with the outstanding final grade of 1.74
  • Maximilian Taxis and Florian Koch, each with a very good 1.97

Quirin Wecker also received a gift from the company in the form of an education voucher for his next qualification.

Acknowledgements and honours

Afterwards, Ernst Stephan thanked the examination board, the specialist instructors and the entire training team for their commitment. Special mention was made of Mr Kilian, who has been a valued instructor at the training centre for many years. Course director Jens Rothfuss was also thanked for his excellent organisation of the course.

Greetings from the course speaker

Another highlight was the welcome address by Constantin Greger, who, as course speaker, reviewed the training period. With humour, gratitude and motivation for the future, he spoke on behalf of the graduates and emphasised the cohesion within the course. He also praised the good catering and the friendly atmosphere in the building.

Concluding with burgers and conversation

Afterwards, the team led by chef Mr Müller celebrated with homemade burgers, falafel and fresh salads.

Future prospects: advancement in timber construction

With the successful completion of this advanced training programme, many doors are open to the new certified foremen. In future, they will take on important tasks in work preparation, coordination and management on construction sites - as a link between planning and execution. The next "Certified Foreman in Timber Construction" training programme is already planned and will start in January 2026.

The Bildungszentrum Holzbau wishes you every success in your future career.
