Your steps to the journeyman's examination
You only come to Biberach for "Üba" (inter-company training) in the second year of training. This is where the practical training is completed in various courses. Here, "basics" such as timber construction, staircase construction and joinery are taught, as well as the advanced knowledge of timber house construction and energy modernisation. Safety in the workplace and on machines is the most important content of the machine course.
Your training path
1st year of training
In the first year, the focus is on getting you started in the carpentry trade. You will acquire basic theoretical and practical knowledge, develop craftsmanship skills and gain an initial insight into modern timber construction – well prepared by full-time schooling and a work placement.
2nd year of training
26–28 weeks of in-company training
11–13 weeks of inter-company training
13 weeks of vocational school
Interim examination after the second year of training
3rd year of training
37 weeks of in-company training
