Brazilian delegation learns about innovative training concepts in timber construction
2. Jun 2025
Last Tuesday, the timber construction training centre welcomed a high-ranking delegation from the Brazilian state of Paraná.
Around 25 representatives from ministries, universities, industry associations and companies learned about the dual training system in Germany and the innovative educational concept of carpentry training in Biberach as part of an official timber construction campaign.
The focus of the visit was on the practical, future-oriented training that is implemented at the timber construction training centre. Jochen Ströhle, Head of the Networking Department, not only presented the structure and content of the carpentry training programme, but also the modern workshops and the wide range of further training courses offered by the centre.
After a joint lunch in the training centre's seminar hotel, the guests were given a tour of the training areas, providing them with a direct insight into the various stages and technologies involved in the skilled trades qualification. Particularly impressive was the presentation of the project results from "Zukunft Holzbau 2030", which emphasised the combination of tradition, innovation and sustainability in timber construction.
The visit took place in the context of the planned timber construction campaign in the state of Paraná. The aim is to establish a forward-looking cluster of research, industry and education on a new industrial campus being built in Guarapuava in southern Brazil. The delegation showed great interest in a long-term exchange and possible cooperation with educational institutions in Baden-Württemberg.
"This meeting impressively demonstrates how internationally networked educational work can provide impetus for sustainable timber construction. We are delighted with the high level of interest and see great potential for future partnerships," said Jochen Ströhle.
